Excited to be part of the Echigo-Tsumari Asia Forum 2024, as part of the Echigo-Tsumari Art Field Triennale.<\/p>\n

We are living in turbulent times. The world is divided as symbolized by the collapse of the global environment and the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, the growing number of refugees exceeds 110 million, and one in ten of the population is starving. Globalization is accelerating, with more than 1.4 billion international travelers per year, and developments in AI, digitalization, and science and technology are asking us questions about \u201cwhat it means to be human\u201d and \u201cwhat it means to live\u201d.In such a world, how do artists react and create artworks using their intuition and physiology? Can art open up this exclusive world?
\nThe 9th Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale started with the slogan \u201cThe Art of Hospitality\u201d. Launched in 2016 as the Setouchi Asia Forum, the Asia Forum has been held at the Setouchi Triennale and the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale, and we would like to listen to the voices of artists who are connected beyond national borders.<\/p>\n
